How we work
What are the ethical considerations regarding preventive screening? (Is fear-based marketing used?)
Ahead Health exists to help people understand their health through early detection, not to create anxiety. A few points we think are important:
- Our reports follow internationally recognized evidence-based guidelines (such as the Fukuoka guidelines for pancreatic cysts and ACR guidelines for incidental findings). We don't escalate findings beyond what the evidence supports.
- All findings are classified using the ONCO-RADS system (1–5), which standardizes how findings are communicated and acted on. Most findings are RADS 1–2 (normal or benign).
- Radiologists in Switzerland cannot self-refer patients for follow-up procedures. Any follow-up recommendation must be deemed medically necessary.
- We don't own MRI equipment, so we have no incentive to maximize scan volume.
We believe finding potential issues when they are small and manageable is better than waiting for symptoms. Our physicians focus on giving you clear, proportionate guidance, not alarm.
