Question 1

How do I book a check-up and what information is needed?

You can request your appointment online through our website or by contacting us via WhatsApp or phone.

You'll typically need to provide your full name, birthdate, personal address and preferred dates and times for your appointment, and specify your chosen check-up package.

An email address and phone number are also required for communication and confirmation.

Do I need a referral for an Ahead test?

No, you do not need a referral for the Ahead tests. You can request an appointment independently. Please note that we may need to assess your eligibility for some tests.

You can book your appointment online through our website, which features a real-time calendar, or by contacting us via WhatsApp or phone.

What preparation is needed?

Detailed preparation guidelines will be provided after your booking is confirmed, usually via a calendar invitation. General preparations include:

Fasting: If your check-up includes blood tests, an 8–12 hour fast (water is okay) is recommended. Please confirm specific requirements for your booked package.
Attire: You can wear comfortable clothes. At the check-up appointment you will receive comfortable scrubs.
Hydration: Drink 2–3 glasses (about 500ml) of water before your scan to stay hydrated.
Exercise: Avoid heavy exercise for about 2 hours before your scan. If you have a blood test, avoid heavy exercise about 24 hours before.
Metal: Do not wear any metal items such as jewelry or watches. If you have any metal implants, please inform us.
Caffeine: If you are prone to jitters, avoid caffeine for at least 2 hours before the scan. If you booked a blood test, stay fasted and avoid caffeine on the day of your scan.
Medication: Continue taking your regular medications unless your GP has advised otherwise.

Question 4

What happens on my appointment day and how long does the entire appointment take?

On the day of your appointment, you'll arrive at the clinic, go through a quick metal check, and change into comfortable scrubs.

The MRI scan takes 45–80 minutes depending on your package (Core ~45 min, Advanced ~60 min, Pro ~80 min). A blood draw takes only a few minutes. The entire visit, from arrival to departure, is typically 60–120 minutes.

If your check-up includes blood tests, please arrive fasted (8–12 hours, water only). Make sure to drink 2–3 glasses of water to stay hydrated.

Where are the Ahead Health clinics located?

Question 6

Can I book two tests back-to-back?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If your package includes both an MRI and blood test, they're scheduled in the same visit at the same clinic. The blood draw is done either before or after the MRI, depending on the clinic's workflow.

If you booked a standalone blood test and want to add an MRI (or vice versa), contact our team and we'll combine them into one appointment.

Question 7

Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can reschedule or cancel your appointment.

We have a 48-hour cancellation policy.

If you need to make changes, please do so at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled time to avoid a potential no-show fee of 150 CHF.

Question 8

Can I book appointments for two people back-to-back?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can book appointments for two people (e.g., for yourself and a partner or family member) to be scheduled consecutively.

You can select adjoining slots when booking online or inform our support team, and they will assist you.

For MRI-based check-ups, we also offer a couples benefit: if both MRI scans are completed within the same month, each person receives CHF 250 off. Simply mention the name of your partner in the notes field during booking so we can link the appointments.

Our booking team can also connect both files so that couples or pairs can have one joint results discussion call, if preferred.

Are you coming to my city?

We're currently available at multiple locations across Switzerland for both MRI check-ups and standalone blood tests. We're actively expanding, with planned locations across Europe.

Check our locations page for the full list of current and upcoming cities, addresses, and opening hours. If your city isn't listed yet, you can join the waitlist there and we'll notify you as soon as we're available in your area.

In the meantime, you're welcome to book at any of our existing locations.

Question 10

I have symptoms or health concerns — should I book with you or see a doctor first?

Accepted Answer

If you have acute symptoms (chest pain, sudden weakness, unexplained weight loss, persistent pain, or any condition that feels urgent), please see your GP or visit a hospital first. Our screening is designed for preventive health checks in people without acute symptoms, not for urgent diagnosis.

Ahead Health is best suited for:

Healthy individuals who want to proactively check their health
People with a family history of certain conditions who want early detection
Routine follow-up screening (e.g. annually or every 2 years)

If you're unsure whether our screening is appropriate for your situation, you can book a free advisory call with our team. We'll help you determine whether an Ahead check-up makes sense or whether you should see a specialist first.

If something unexpected comes up during our screening, our physicians will guide you through the appropriate next steps, including urgent referrals when necessary.

Question 11

Should I stop taking supplements before my blood test?

Accepted Answer

No — please continue taking your medications and supplements as usual. This allows us to assess your health in the context of your real-life routine.

Please include what you take and the dosage in your questionnaire so our medical team can interpret your results accurately.

Please note:

Creatine: may influence markers related to kidney function — please mention it in your questionnaire
Thyroid medication: please pause it 2 hours before your appointment
